Compared To Other Top Self-Defense Rounds
What ive seen so far your ammunition is a superb choice on a self defense gun i keep two loaded mags of each so far thanks for the outstanding bullets.
Response from Liberty Ammunition
Thank you for carrying Liberty Ammunition!
Fired my 1911 with regular (cheap) ammo at an oak tree from 20 some yards. They consistently bounced off the bark but Liberty Civil Defense +P ammo drilled so hard into the trunk that you couldn’t see the pieces in the tree.
I agree with KICKS KIDD 22lr from Liberty would be awesome but I’d like to see 22 wmr and 44 mag as well.
Love your 9mm and 45 acp ammo!
How much does 45+ P weigh?
Also, the9mm +p
and 380+p. Thank you
Response from Liberty Ammunition
Tim,
The 9mm is available in different weights and velocities.
50,55, and 72 gr bullets at speeds from 1720 to 2040 FPS.
We have two 45 ACP:
– 78gr bullet traveling at 1900fps
– 105gr traveling at 1600fps.
Our .380 is a 50 gr traveling at 2040fps.
I originally picked up a box at the shop out of curiosity. Is never seen the brand before. I was instantly surprised at how light it was compared to a typical box of 45acp. After doing some reading and watching ballistic test videos, I got a box to try. I have an officer size, steel frame, double stack 1911, and fully loaded it’s heavy to carry. This ammo is so much lighter that it makes carry a breeze. Significantly less recoil is a major plus but still has all the knock down power you want in a 45. It’s now in everything in my carry rotation.
I use this ammo in all my 9mm, 45acp, and 10mm pistols. Fantastic function with much lower recoil!!
105 grain projectile at 1600 ft/sec yields 596.7 ft•lb of energy, NOT 604 ft•lb.
This same misinformation is listed in the Midway web-site.
I do like Liberty ammo and use it in my firearms. I recommend it for anyone who wants to use what I consider the best ammunition for self defense.
Response from Liberty Ammunition
Thanks Bill,
That was rounded down from 1610.
Mistake on our part.
She hits at 604 and is a little faster than marked on the box.
It does what it says. I carry all the time. Only complaint is the bullet falls into the case. This is after loading and reloading.
Response from Liberty Ammunition
Continued loading and unloading can knock the projo into the case.
We recommend dummy rounds for practicing loading and unloading drills.
Bought a box to try, wasn’t expecting the velocity or accuracy i got. Garmen cronograph gave me an average 2889fps
On 10 shots.
1/2″ group @ 30yds 3rounds .
2″ group @100yds 3 rounds.
Will be a repeat customer.
Response from Liberty Ammunition
Wow…….that’s even better than we would expect!!
Our ammo matches up well with Ruger, they make a great product as well.
2889 fps is insane!
Those groupings are fantastic as well.
Our Projectiles Function Differently Than Any Other Self-Defense Round On The Market. We Designed The Civil Defense Line To Eliminate Threats With One Round. We Did This By Creating The Maximum Amount Of Damage And Tissue Disruption Possible. They Do Well Against Barriers, But When The Large Cavity Fills With Fluid, The Hydraulic Pressure Builds Until The Side Walls Of The Projectile Explode. With That Explosion Comes Rifle Sized Temporary Cavities And Hydrostatic Shock, Therefore Increasing Stopping Power By Tenfold. Following The Explosion, The Bullet Fragments Into A Starburst Shaped Pattern Creating Multiple Wound Channels.

Our 380 Civil Defense Rounds Changed The Pocket Pistol Game. For A Long Time, Everyone Criticized The 380 ACP For Not Having Enough Kinetic Energy. That’s Not The Case Anymore. Our 380 Is One Of Our Most Sought After Rounds Because It Packs Enough Punch, It Gets The Job Done.
