I hunt deer with Barnes VOR-TX 110 grain TAC-TX copper bullets, either new or reloaded to specs. This round has controlled expansion and the bullet maintains its weight (non-frangible). I like the 2500 fps and >16″ penetration of your Overwatch 300 Blackout. I think this speed and penetration ought to work well on white-tailed deer providing the bullet stays intact, essentially retains original weight. I research hunting rounds before using them. I always seek quick, humane taking of game.
Can you provide any data or field testing information supporting using Liberty Overwatch 300 Blackout for taking white-tailed deer? I understand it is a defensive round per se. In my opinion, with this speed and penetration, and if the round retains 95-100% weight, it should work quickly and well within 50-100 yards for thin-skinned deer. An exit opening (blood trail) is a plus so please share what you know factually.
We do not have any quantitative data regarding white-tailed deer.
But we can tell you we get calls from customers that use it in the field.
Will there be a listing for different velocity of different barrel lengths for the 45 acp variant of liberty overwatch
Daniel, There are so many variants, we can’t list them all.
But we can guarantee that ours will be at the top for velocity and hitting harder.
